Galerie Alan Klinkhoff Inc. is one of Canada’s leading commercial fine art galleries. Galerie Alan Klinkhoff Inc. serves an international clientele from its website Klinkhoff.ca and galleries in Montreal and Toronto. The gallery regularly conducts appraisals for individuals, corporations and some of Canada’s most prominent institutions. 

Position: Data Management and Administration

Time Frame: Until August 23, 2024

Location: 1448 rue Sherbrooke Ouest, Montreal

Galerie Alan Klinkhoff Inc. is now inviting applicants on a fixed-term contract to assist primarily with several projects related to organizing and digitizing historical archives as well as organizing and compiling existing records presently stored in multiple platforms. This position also offers a unique opportunity to engage in several other areas of gallery operations. 

Ideal Candidate:

The ideal candidate for this position will possess a diverse set of qualifications. As part of a small team, each member is expected to be involved in multiple ongoing projects. The special projects require attention to detail, proficiency in data entry and the ability to work methodically, efficiently and in an organized manner. 

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Orchestrate the digitization of gallery records and archival material

  • Design and implement database systems to store and manage large volumes of data

  • Compile data from various sources, including archival material, into gallery databases

  • Organize and update existing data

  • Update website content management systems

  • Assist with logistics, and artwork cataloguing

  • Create documents such as invoices, insurance appraisals, customs documentation, and mailings

  • Handle sensitive information with respect for gallery and client confidentiality

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm until August 23, 2024

Qualifications:

  • Education: DEC or Bachelor's Degree (in progress or completed)

  • Fluent bilingualism in French and English (oral and written)

  • Strong computer skills (Mac OS)

  • Advanced proficiency with applications such as Microsoft Word and Excel (or similar)

Assets:

  • Attention to detail: Ability to accurately input large amount of data

  • Computer proficiency: Familiarity with database software

  • Previous experience in data entry, database management and archival work
