Klinkhoff Opens at New Location

2014 Brings Succession to Klinkhoff Art Business

Jonathan, Craig and I are proud to introduce you to Galerie Alan Klinkhoff, an evolution of almost four decades of my professional involvement in the Canadian art business with my parents, Gertrude and Walter Klinkhoff, my brother Eric and latterly my eldest son Jon at Gallery Walter Klinkhoff. After what was a record year at Galerie Walter Klinkhoff in sales, I acknowledge that this transition is motivated by four objectives.

First, it is an initiative undertaken to assure a succession of the Klinkhoff name in the Canadian art business for another generation.  I am optimistic that my sons Jonathan and Craig might enjoy the extraordinary pleasures as have I working in the Canadian art world.

Second, noting that an increasing majority of both important acquisitions and sales of fine art are transacted with neither stakeholders physically coming to the gallery, our new and more efficient location allows us more mobility and greater opportunities to visit interested parties. Galerie Alan Klinkhoff, 1448 Sherbrooke Street W. in Montreal.

Third, with this strategic move we hope to increase the number of gallery visitors.  Our new address is 1448 Sherbrooke Street West, in the “Quartier du Musée” within the Golden Square Mile, only a few steps from the distinguished galleries of yesteryear, those of Dr. Max Stern and William Watson.  It is today adjacent to Landau Contemporary at Dominion Gallery, Landau Fine Art, The Canadian Guild of Crafts, Galerie Elena Lee and Trésoirs de Madagascar, on an art destination block on venerable Sherbrooke Street West.  During some modest renovations we are temporarily housed in an office behind the new gallery, at 1442 Sherbrooke Street West, accessible by a private elevator through “Passage du Musée.”  Here we are available by appointment.  Please contact us at 514 284 9339 or info@klinkhoff.ca.

Finally, teamed with Craig and Jonathan, it is our intention to invest in our ability to communicate with art enthusiasts with a greater internet presence. Galerie Alan Klinkhoff, located at an elegant address, offers an unrivalled experience in the buying and selling of important fine art, and able to meet all your art market related requirements with the expertise and trust synonymous with the Klinkhoff name over the decades. Eric can be contacted directly at what is now called Galerie Eric Klinkhoff, located at 1200 Sherbrooke Street West. We look forward to welcoming you at Galerie Alan Klinkhoff, 1448 Sherbrooke Street West.  Jonathan, Craig and I look forward to advising you in your art interests for another generation.

The value added is expertise.

Alan - your name (and this link) landed on my linked-in site. Yours is a very recognizable LCC name from my past.
Living in Oakville, work in TO, 4 kids and 2 grandchildren! You will be interested to note that there has been an epidemic of girls in the next generation of the C-S's and none have been called "Mouse".
Great looking boys - lots to be proud of I am sure.

All the best, Peter CS
