Paul Vanier Beaulieu Retrospective Opens to Positive Exhibitions Reviews

Exceptional Interest in Beaulieu's Works during Successful September Show

On September 26 our Paul Vanier Beaulieu retrospective ended after an exceptional two weeks. Almost 1500 people took advantage of this unique opportunity to see 40 privately held masterworks by this underestimated artist. Bolstered by positive reviews in La Presse, The Westmount Examiner, The Westmount Independent and The Suburban, this, the 35th annual non-selling show hosted by our gallery, was visited by art enthusiasts of the general public, artists, students, accomplished academics, museum curators, some of Canada’s foremost collectors and merchants in addition to members of the extended Beaulieu family.

We provided lectures about the exhibition to two groups of museum guides from The Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, an organization called Art Focus and the Montreal Women’s Cultural Association. The Quebec Cancer Foundation had an evening here launching its 2010 calendar which is illustrated with Paul Vanier Beaulieu works of art . It was also mutually beneficial that concurrent with our P V Beaulieu show Galerie Jean-Pierre Valentin featured an important non selling exhibition honoring Jean-Paul Lemieux . It is our intention to cooperate similarly next year to increase art interest in the neighborhood for all stakeholders.

Once again, we would like to extend a "thank you" to the lenders. Theirs is a generous and vital contribution to the expansion of knowledge within the field of Canadian art and without whose support and encouragement these initiatives would not be possible. Looking forward to 2010 we are proud to announce that our non selling exhibition will celebrate the career of artist John Fox (1927-2008) a Montreal based artist who left an important legacy of contemporary painting executed over a 55 year career and countless talented artist-graduated of Concordia University who benefited from Fox's instruction.

This fall, the gallery’s calendar includes exhibitions of the most recent and outstanding paintings by contemporary artists Danielle Lanteigne (October 26th through November 7th) and Laurie Campbell (November 16th through 28th). The paintings may be purchased in advance of the sale. Seeking to encourage prospective sellers to best manage the financial risk when selling important works of art and maximize value, Galerie Walter Klinkhoff continues to offer financial guarantees to sellers of outstanding historical paintings and sculpture. Many fine works will be featured in our upcoming sale of Important Canadian art from Saturday, October 17th. Contact us at our fixed price gallery for a free and confidential consultation.
