Henry Simpkins était un artiste aux capacités exceptionnelles. Notre galerie d'art familiale d'origine, la Walter Klinkhoff Gallery, représentait ses œuvres et accueillait des expositions individuelles. Lorsque j'ai commencé à travailler à plein temps à la galerie, j'ai eu le plaisir d'être le seul d'entre nous à lui rendre visite pour sélectionner des œuvres dans sa maison du boulevard Pine Beach à Dorval. Henry était un gentleman à la voix douce, aimable et humble, un véritable artiste de la génération de Jack Bush, William Winter, Philip Surrey et Lorne Bouchard, des artistes qui avaient reçu une éducation artistique formelle et qui avaient affiné leur vocation dans le monde de l'art commercial, tout en développant un style qui leur était propre.
