Bruno Bobak captured the mood created by lighting of the changing seasons, weather and times of day. Among his favourite painting places was the landscape of New Brunswick, often nearby some of his preferred fishing spots. A Bank of Golden Rod is an excellent example of Bruno Bobak at his best. He had a distinctive style characterized by vibrant colors, bold brushstrokes, and a strong sense of composition. His work reflected his deep connection to the Canadian landscape.
Bruno Bobak participated in more than two hundred and fifty group exhibitions and had more than eighty one-man shows. “As an artist, Bruno Bobak’s creative work, which includes drawing, painting, printmaking, murals and sculpture, has defined a unique and sometimes difficult to contextualize vision within the historical currents of Canadian art. He has created a body of work of his time and place, telling stories that are both universal as well as personal. He has been heralded as a humanist and as expressionist, but above all as a remarkable artist.”[1]
